So for lack of a CD and the limited number of hot rock songs, I give this book only four stars. Also, what would really help this book is a CD of the songs like those found in the Guitar For Dummies and Rock Guitar For Dummies books, but sadly, I guess for contractual reasons, no CD of the songs is offered here although there could be cover versions but we don't even get those. The book tries to help by providing notes at the beginning of the book about many of the songs on the techniques involved and how these songs should be played but still, this is not a book for rank amateurs unless someone with more experience is around to help answer a few questions.īut given the short supply of rock music with both standard music notation and tablature, this book is a good resource for a few good songs to learn such as Hit Me With Your Best Shot, I want You To Want Me, Message In A Bottle, The Boys Are Back In Town, Shattered, Born To Be Wild, and others. This shouldn't come as a surprise as the music was written by accomplished rock musicians and played by accomplished rock musicians. If you are a beginner I wouldn't quite recommend this book as most of the music is fairly advanced. However, over all this is a very good book to have around for intermediate to advanced guitar players. While the songs range from the 60's to the 80's in style, most of the songs aren't my favorite songs although I do like Walk Don't Run (the Ventures), Sunshine of Your Love (Cream), and Won't Be Fooled Again (the Who). I wish that I could have seen just what songs this book had before I bought it. Takin' Care Of Business īeoordeeld in de Verenigde Staten □□ op 16 februari 2010 I got this list off of another website, but a few of the songs on the list were incorrect, so i fixed the list I really wanted to see this before I bought this book, so here it is for you. It is about an inch larger length and width than a sheet of printer paper, but this is good because it shows more music on each page. If you know how to play and you like these songs, then you should definitely get this book! Play-along audio CD included The fun and easy way to start playing the guitar Covers rock, blues, folk, and classical styles Start strumming tunes right. If you are brand new to playing, this is not the book for you. while playing Teaches you to play in different styles, including rock, blues, folk. These songs are a little harder than you would think. Guitar For Dummies gives you everything a beginning or intermediate. It also has some extra tips on how to play parts of each of the songs. It has tab and standard notation with an explanation of all the guitar tab notations and a list of all the chords in the back.
